WELCOME

I am a PhD student in the School of Economics, and a Research Affiliate at the Research Unit on the Economics of Excisable Products (REEP), both at the University of Cape Town (UCT). I am also a Research Analyst at Development Gateway (DG)

My PhD research, supervised by Professors Corne' van Walbeek and Estelle Dauchy, focuses on the economics of cigarettes and emerging nicotine products in high- and low-income countries. The topics I fancy the most are in Development Economics, particularly unhealthy products, excise taxes, health, and education, as well as Applied Microeconometrics. Prior to graduate school, I briefly lectured at two universities in Lesotho.

I hold a Master's degree in Economics from UCT (2021), where I was a  Canon Collins Scholar, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics from the National University of Lesotho (NUL) (2019), where I was honoured with the top student award from the Central Bank of Lesotho. Before university, I graduated from Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) in 2014, ranking among the top ten students nationally.
